Dear beach bunnies,

As the summer season enters into full swing, what better time to stock up on those must have summer favorites from Dermstore.com! We all know that with summer comes sun and while we all love having that sun kissed glow, we mustn’t forget the less than ideal side effects that can come from a long day at the beach. The sun’s rays are a large contributor to those visible signs of aging that many women try to prevent. While protection is a main component in keeping your skin looking young and healthy, many overlook the power of a nightly anti-aging serum. Announced as one of Dermstore’s summer favorites, Sadick Dermatology Group PM Reversal Serum has proven anti-aging ingredients to speed up your skin’s natural healing process to reverse the effect of even the longest summer days.

In Just What the Doctors Ordered, renowned dermatologists and plastic surgeons give their expert opinions on the latest and greatest anti-aging products.

Among the 5 doctors featured in the article, Dr. Sadick recommends Sadick Dermatology Group PM Reversal Serum saying “To get younger-looking skin, you need to build collagen, stimulate elastin, and encourage cell turnover. Why Skin Care Shouldn’t Be An Afterthought

Have you ever tried a skin care product that promises to solve all of your skin care needs? Were you left feeling unsatisfied with the results of this one jar wonder? As most of you are nodding your head in affirmation, dermatology experts know that the complex nature of skin requires a broader approach than one product can offer.

Ara of JSOnline explains “Skin is inherently complex, and it faces a daunting variety of challenges, so it makes sense that treating it effectively takes an equally multi-faceted strategy. From your lifestyle choices and habits to the products you use, keep three things in mind when it comes to your skin:, protection, reversal, and rejuvenation.

So many people think that having younger-looking skin is simply a matter of not having wrinkles, but according to Dr. Neil Sadick, a renowned dermatologist and researcher, it goes far beyond that. "Changes in pigmentation, pore size, fine lines and skin tone all contribute to skin looking older," Sadick says. "So it's important to treat each of those problems and address the causes in order to maintain a youthful look."

To address the skin care needs of his patients, Dr. Sadick formulated a comprehensive three piece skin care kit, Park Avenue Prescriptions which contains AM Protection Cream, PM Reversal Serum and PM Rejuvenation Cream. When all three products are used together, this clinically proven approach to skincare addresses all visible signs of aging to help prevent and reverse environmental damage.

Hello, Treatment Seekers,

Do you have flushed and red even on a cool, spring day? As redness seems to be caused by external factors, most people don't know it might be rosacea. As Teri Consenzi, our friend and the editor over at Beautiful Makeup Search, explains in her article:

  • "If you have a glass of red wine (or two) and your face flushes or feels warm, you have (or will develop) Rosacea."
  • "If you exercise or are out in the cold and your face stays flushed for 15-30 minutes after you are resting or back inside, you have (or will develop) Rosacea."

While rosacea cannot be cured, there are ways to minimize and prevent rosacea flare-ups. Teri suggestions a few options depending your price range. She recommends our PM Rejuvenation cream that includes phytosphingosine that reduces the inflammation and redness from rosacea, and especially for those price conscious buyers.

Hello, Sun-Lovers!

As summer approaches, sun protection is more important than ever. However, those make-up /sunscreen combos are not giving the coverage you expected. Elizabeth Holmes, the health & wellness writer for the Wall Street Journal, gives us the 4-1-1 on the new FDA regulation for sunscreen and consults with Dr. Neil Sadick on how these regulation affects the cosmetic products in the market.

sun_protectionAs she mentioned, "... though dermatologists recommend wearing a sunscreen every day, most people don't. Only about one in five people wears sunscreen properly on a consistent daily basis, says Neil Sadick, clinical professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.

"Even if they are using a makeup with a sunscreen, I would tell my patients they're not getting enough protection," he says.

Most sunscreen products today indicate an SPF level that represents the amount of protection we receive from the burning effects of UVB rays, however it is proven that both UVA and UVB rays cause skin damage and cancer.

As Melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer has reportedly increased eightfold in women from ages 18-39 since 1979, the FDA will be enforcing new guidelines to ensure product labels include both SPF (UVB protection) and broad spectrum (UVA protection) .

Holmes recommends that women use a moisturizer with both SPF and broad spectrum protection as well as a foundation with both qualities to ensure full coverage from the sun. To achieve this try using Sadick Dermatology Group Am Protection Cream with Broad spectrum SPF 20 UVA/UVB protection as a primer for the makeup of your choice.

Dear Beauty Tip Junkies,

Have you ever wondered why there is so much chatter about the best and most effective ways to apply eye cream?  The skin around your eyes and on your lids is home to the thinnest skin on your entire body. That being said, it isn't hard to imagine why your eye area needs to be treated with extreme care. When applying eye cream, gently pat the eye area with your ring finger to allow deeper absorption into the skin. Did you know? Your ring finger does not have a pulse and therefore is more sensitive to touch than any other finger making it the perfect tool to work around the delicate eye area.

Try this application technique with Sadick Dermatology Group Peptide Eye Repair to help boost your skin’s collagen to prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Dear Dedicated Blog Readers,

Sadick Dermatology Group boasts rave reviews from Tried and Tested Beauty Blog!

After testing our Park Avenue Prescription Kit, here are some great things beauty blogger Loreen had to say about the line:

AM Protection Cream-- “is great, it’s light weight and really moisturizing.  It contains SPF already and I like that it’s higher than SPF15, which is usually what moisturizers put in”

PM Reversal Serum-- “is a great serum, it feels light and not greasy.  It absorbs into my skin and after a couple of weeks I found that some of my fine lines looked like they were disappearing.”

Pm Rejuvenation Cream-- “The cream felt nourishing and didn’t feel heavy.  It also contains antibacterial properties that help protect against the occasional breakout.”

“Do I love this set or leave it?”

“I love it!”
